Studio Etiquette


ARRIVING:

  • Register with the studio here. and book your classes here or via the Mindbody App.

  • Familiarize yourself with the studio by reading the About section, review cancelation/booking policies, check out the different class descriptions, and read our Frequently Asked Questions. Please do not hesitate to email or call us with any questions you may have. Please leave a voicemail if prompted and we will return your call pronto! Feel free to text us as well but make sure to state your name in the text!

  • Come prepared. Bring a yoga mat, large towel to place over your mat, an extra hand-towel, and water. If you do not have a yoga mat and towel you may rent one from us for $5.

  • The studio opens 15 minutes prior to the start of class.

  • Be on time!

  • New students should arrive early to allow enough time for orientation and to get settled in.

  • Class starts promptly on time and the doors are locked at the start of class. Once the studio doors have been locked, no students will be admitted into class.

  • Before class starts, especially new students, please let the teacher know of any injuries, physical limitations or anything you feel the instructor should know. This allows the instructor to be aware of any issues you may have so that they can accurately modify postures if needed and accommodate your practice needs.

  • Refrain from wearing perfume, cologne or strong scents.

  • No shoes in the practice room, please leave your shoes with your personal belongings in the lobby cubbies.

  • Absolutely no cell phones in the practice room. Period. Please speak to the instructor first if you need to be near your phone for emergency reasons.

  • Silence or turn off smart watches, fitness watches or heart rate monitors. It’s recommended you leave them with your belongings as this is a time for practice and to be free of distractions.


DURING CLASS:

  • The studio door is locked at the start of class, no one will be permitted in once class has started.

  • Please be in the yoga room, set up & ready to begin at the class start time and before the teacher enters the room. This is not only respectful to your fellow yogis, but also to your own practice.

  • No talking during class. This is a time for yourself and your practice.

  • If you are a new student, avoid setting up in the front row.

  • Make sure you can see yourself in the front mirror.

  • Focus on yourself in the front mirror and practice stillness between the postures.

  • Take as many breaks as you need by laying down on your mat.

  • Do not leave the room until class has ended or unless discussed with instructor. If for any reason you feel you must leave the room, please get the attention of the instructor so they may assist you.

  • Follow the instructions and wait for the teacher’s cues.


AFTER CLASS:

  • Once class has ended, please remain in the room until after the teacher has exited.

  • No talking until you have exited the room, allow this time for yourself and others to be still and relax with no distractions.

  • When you leave after your final Savasana, please do so as quietly as you can.

  • Help keep our practice space clean. Please check your space after class and avoid leaving a wet spot on the floor. Please clean up any liquids - sweat, water, etc, in your area prior to leaving.

  • If you rented a mat, spray and wipe it down using the mat spray located by the exit and hang it on the ballet bar at the back of the room. The instructor will disinfect and sanitize it after class. Place rented towels in the laundry basket in the bathroom.

  • Do not hesitate to speak with the instructor regarding your practice or if you have any questions.
