Kirsty Boyer  | Co-Owner/Instructor

Kirsty is the co-owner of Hot Yoga Deland and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance. Kirsty began her yoga journey over a decade ago as a compliment to her running. As the years passed, the relationship with running and yoga began to shift. More yoga - less running. The benefits to yoga becoming more and more evident as it began to make the biggest changes from the neck up. Kirsty loves everything from an empowering hot flow to a beautiful slow flow. Heather and Kirsty met over 10 years ago via a running group and the rest is history!

Kirsty is married to Shayne, the proud mother of 5 children and a smitten Granny to Emmalynn.

Kirsty is the V.P. and National Manager of the Dormant Solutions Group for Fidelity National Financial where she has worked for 30 years. In this career, she has served in many roles and has had the privilege to be mentored by incredible leaders, as well as having the opportunity to lead and mentor others. After 30 years, she still says “I love what I do, and I love who I get to do it with!”

Heather McIver  | Co-Owner/Instructor

Together with Kirsty, she shares a profound passion for health, yoga, and community. Their friendship and shared objectives make for a perfect partnership.

Mark Dodds  | Instructor

Mark is a long-time Hatha yogi, sādhaka, philosophy nerd and a graduate/trainee of the e84 Advanced Training led by the renowned yoga acharya, Esak Garcia.

Mark has taught and led workshops all over and has been a regular guest teacher at some of the most well-known yoga schools in Florida. Wishing to make this practice more accessible to the community and to have a space that cultivates the traditions of yoga therapy, he opened District Hot Yoga.

As a student, he consistently practices and studies under his mentors and as an instructor brings this knowledge to his students on and off the mat. His serious classroom presence is balanced with careful attention and encouragement, he has a way to push you to do your very best every time you step on your mat. You can’t help but notice his love of yoga and how much he truly cares about his students.

Mark is also a certified Sound Therapist specializing in traditional Tibetan Sound Therapy and body tuning. This comes from a deep interest in Vedic philosophies as well as the benefits of sound, vibration, and mantra through spoken Sanskrit.

You’ll generally find him at the studio taking class or practicing before or after teaching. Outside the yoga bubble he loves to be outdoors as much as possible; gardening, riding his bicycle, going on hikes and of course spending as much time as possible with his dog, Farrah. Mark has also attended several 10-day Vipassana meditation courses at Dhamma Patapa Vipassana Center and works to bring this aspect of awareness and mindfulness into his teaching, practice and lifestyle. He is a big advocate of mindful consumerism, minimalism and the zero-waste lifestyle - he’d be happy to talk your ear off about it if you ask.
